About the Event

The renowned author of "Where are the Women Architects" will be in Pittsburgh for a series of events dissecting and promoting gender equity in the design professions. Despina Stratigakos is a writer, historian, and professor at the University at Buffalo where she also serves as the Vice Provost for Inclusive Excellence. She will be accompanied by Lori A. Brown, FAIA, co-founder of ArchiteXX, professor at Syracuse Univeristy, and most recently contributor to "The Women Who Changed Architecture." The two will be in conversation with Emily Pierson-Brown in a Q&A following the talk.

Immediately following, the audience is invited to a reception in the Frick Fine Arts cloister. All are invited and welcome to attend even if you cannot attend the lecture. Due to the restrictions on alcohol on the University of Pittsburgh campus, no alcohol will be served at the reception. Folks are encouraged to continue the conversation at the Porch afterwards for additional food and drink options.
