W+iD Happy Hour with Perkins Eastman

Event Recap:

Due to the strong momentum of the Perkins Eastman internal Women’s Leadership Initiative, it felt like the right time to invite others in the Pittsburgh design community into some of the valuable conversations happening in our office.  Invitations went out to a small group of our friends who we thought might be interested, and we started receiving RSVP’s from all over the place.  Over 30 women in the Pittsburgh design community joined together with 15 from PE, and this was our first inkling that there was interest out there in building this type of group.  As we mingled about sharing our stories and experiences, we encouraged  guests to participate in gathering some data through dot exercises and open ended questions.  This was just the beginning of learning about this community, making connections with one another, and figuring out how to support each other across the city.  For more information on the origins of Women+ in Design PGH, click here.
