Building on previous WID happy hour data collections, specifically from Perkins Eastman and Strada, RDCollab identified some common themes, or areas of curiosity that we thought deserved more conversation, which we consolidated into a poster. Poster, consisted of 12 areas of conversation included themes such as Negotiating Pay Raise, Pay Equity Transparency, Barriers to Promotion, Mentorship & Support, Leadership Styles, Leadership/Advocacy, Emotional labor, Work-Life Balance, Caregiver Concern, Comfortable Disagreeing, Vocal advocate for Equity, and Being Vocal. Serving as conversation appetizers, we were able to delve deeper into some of the topics and try to uncover the underlying themes and tendencies that we, women, may have in common and how we can learn from each other’s experience. It was remarkable to see how open and candid people were in these conversations and to hear stories worth learning from.
